The Journey to My Dream: Lessons I’ve Learned Along the Way

Chasing a dream is deeply personal. It’s exhilarating, messy and often unpredictable. For me, it’s been a journey of self discovery, resilience and countless moments of doubt and triumph. This month, I want to share my story-what I’ve learned about pursuing dreams, the mistakes I’ve made, and the small victories that have kept me going.

If you’re chasing a dream, I hope my experiences inspire you to keep going, no matter where you are on your path.

For years, I played it safe. I told myself that I didn’t have time to chase my dreams or that they weren’t realistic. The truth? I was scared-scared of failure, judgement, and even success.

Everything changed for me the day I let myself dream out loud. I wrote it down in my journal: I want to have my own healing business. Seeing it in black and white made it real, and for the first time, I dated to believe it was possible.

The moment I took my first step, doubt came rushing in….what if im not good enough? What if I fail? Who am I to do this? These thoughts didn’t disappear, but I learned to keep going despite them. A friend once told me “Doubt is the loudest when you’re on the edge of something great.” That stuck with me. When doubt creeps in now, I remind myself: I don’t have to have it all figured out today. I just have to keep moving forward.

Early on, I thought chasing a dream meant making big, bold moves all the time. But I’ve learned that small wins are what keep you going. For me, it was: Sharing my goal with a trusted friend, completing a small project that aligned with my dream, and celebrating when reach milestones no matter how small. Each step forward, no matter how tiny, builds confidence and momentum.

Not every day feels inspired. There have been moments when I wanted to give up-days when failure felt inevitable or when life’s responsibilities felt overwhelming.

One particularly hard day, I sat down and asked myself “Why did I start this journey?” I wrote down everything: The joy it brought me, the sense of purpose and the vision I had for my future. That list became my anchor. Whenever I feel like quitting, I revisit it to remind myself why I’m doing this.

Chasing my dream has changed me in ways I never expected. It’s made me braver, more compassionate, and more willing to take risks. It’s not just about achieving the dream, it’s about who you become along the way.

If you’re chasing a dream, know this: you are capable, even when you doubt yourself. You are worthy, even when the world feels overwhelming. And your dream matters, even if it feels far away.

My journey is far from over, but every step I’ve taken has been worth it. I hope you’ll keep taking steps too.

Sending love and light
